A Protest Turned Safety Showcase
A recent protest video from the UK-based political group Led By Donkeys aimed to criticize Elon Musk. Instead, it unintentionally highlighted the remarkable engineering behind Tesla vehicles.
In the video, Ken Turner, a 98-year-old World War II veteran, drives a Sherman tank over a blue Tesla Model 3.
This act symbolized his protest against what he called Elon Musk’s “fascist support.”
Although the Tesla was visibly crushed in the footage, something unexpected occurred beneath the surface. The Tesla Model 3 withstood the impact better than anyone had anticipated. Once again, the event demonstrated why Tesla vehicles are consistently ranked among the safest in the world.
Tesla Survives Tank Attack with Remarkable Integrity
After the tank drove over the vehicle, the glass roof and windows shattered—as expected. However, the Model 3’s body and lower frame remained largely intact. Viewers noticed that its doors were still operable, and the lower chassis showed little damage.
Social media users on X (formerly Twitter) were quick to point out that even with a 66,800-pound tank, the car did not fold completely. Many speculated that a person inside the vehicle could have survived, showcasing Tesla’s world-class structural safety. Even though the high-voltage battery may have been removed prior to filming, the car’s design still impressed critics and fans alike.
